21 March 2012 | Bonnell's Bay
Sunny
Went for a long walk early am, up the only hill at Toronto past the hospital. Nick reached the bottom before I did & I met him again as he was on the way up for a 2nd time. Left him to it & I took a short cut back. Found the butcher shop & completed our shopping & then set off for the southern end of the lake. Tried to get in to jetty at Belmont to take on water, but it was too shallow for us. We went in very slowly but as the depth gauge rose rapidly we backed out quickly.
Hoisted sail & headed for Bonnell's Bay. The new jib performed admirably & the skipper is well pleased. Hit 7.3knots along the way. Bonnell's Bay is another of those quiet settlements, very pretty & quiet. The sunset in the pic was what we watched as we sat in the cockpit with glasses raised to toast another wonderful day. Not a lot of boats around! We have explored the area on foot & by dinghy. Took the old jib ashore & folded it correctly. It is now stored under a seat & will make an adequate spare that we hope never is needed.
Made plans for an early start tomorrow to have a tourist day in Sydney. Has the added bonus that Jeff is there on a stand-by & if Qantas don't bother him, we may be able to meet him for lunch. Fingers crossed.
