Hookah to the rescue
10 August 2014 | Intan Besar
We had a call from Geoff on 'Lady Jane'. They had moved earlier in the day across the bay to Intan Besar but just as they neared their anchorage, they picked up a rope around their propeller. They were unable to clear it by free diving so we were able to go across to meet them. Nick dived using the trusty Hookah & cut it free. Another plus for the Hookah!
We went ashore in 'Bob' to clean his bottom (again). Barnacles grow like weeds in these tropical waters. Judy took her collection of vegetable & fruit peels ashore & left them in a spot where the monkeys come down to the beach at sunset. A big black wild pig beat them to it!
In our speedy clean 'Bob' we zoomed round to the next bay where 'Velella' had anchored so Helane could dive to clean. After some debate, we all moved back to our original anchorage at Singha Besar, believing it to be the best storm anchorage and with a storm in the offing.
That night we were treated to a magnificent light show from lightning. The sky was lit up for a few hours before the rains came. We harvested 120 litres of pure water.
