Thailand invades Malaysia???

Our time in Langkawi is coming to an end as our visas expire this week. Waiting for the arrival of the aerial before we can leave. This week has an assortment of public holidays. Ken decided that here, RDO stands for random day off. We look up to find the official days off but there are plenty more & we are often taken by surprise. Deepavali celebration finished & there was another one day Muslim holiday & both involved fireworks, some at 2 am!!!!
Nick spent a day balanced in 'Bob' & did the final removal of paint from the cap rails; the little bit under the curve. We run the Genset for this to generate the power for the heat gun. In the evening, the Genset refused to start so we had to run the main motor to charge the batteries. This is a noisy & hot procedure & the prospect of doing this until we could find a mechanic was not exciting us. Nick did all he could to coax life in to it but without success.
Had a final lunch at one of our favourite spots, The Pier Restaurant, with Lynette & Kerry from 'Fayaway'. Called in to the chandlery next door to collect aerial only to find that it hadn't been ordered as the owner had developed kidney stones & was taken to hospital before he had placed the order. Our money was refunded but it leaves us without transmission capabilities on arrival in Thailand. Maybe some sweet talking of officials coming up!
Around morning tea time on Friday, I noticed that all the ferries had gone from our jetty & a string of Thai fishing boats (16) were coming in & tying up there. It looked really strange as these boats seemed to have been stripped of all their fishing gear.
