10 February 2015 | N Cinque, S, Rutland, Chiryatapu
At 0730h, up anchor & heading north again going slowly towards Port Blair as our time in the Andamans is coming to an end. Anchored at the south anchorage on North Cinque but it was just too rolly for comfort. Talked to ‘Watusi’ & ‘Screensaver’ on radio as they are heading to Rutland Island now. We decided to move on to Rutland in the hope of finding a calm anchorage but not to be, so set off for Chiryatapu again. Had a good sail up the east coast of Rutland & anchored there at 1500h, pleased to be out of the roll.
‘Watusi’ arrived the next morning & good to have a reunion & swap stories of the last week. Went ashore for a walk. ‘Screensaver’ came in late in the afternoon & we all spent a relaxed evening enjoying the cool air & a few drinks on our foredeck.
They both left for Port Blair the next morning but we stayed to have a serious fish at the rocky spot where we had success last week. Couldn’t even lose a bait this time.
We are here in the NE season but as the picture shows, strong SW is the prevailing wind.
