Murphy's Law???
23 January 2016 | Telaga Lagoon
The weather as promised was coming and some wind gusts getting up to 20knots. We thought it prudent to move a bit further in to the lagoon and made plans to do that. Nick started the motor & I was bringing up the anchor when I heard a sharp curse through my earphones. For some inexplicable reason the motor had stopped & refused to start again. I put out the chain again & came back inside. The motor just would not go. We decided to let out an extra 5 metres of chain to improve our holding in the blow and this was just enough to put us aground in this shallow lagoon. Not a good position to be in.
Nick lashed 'Bob' to the side of Jepeda & used the thankfully new 15hp motor to drive & steer while I retrieved the anchor. Two other RIB's came to assist and we made it to a better spot!
It was almost dark so we went ashore for a pizza taking the engine manual with us to see if we could find a solution. Phoned Adrian and he referred us to a local mechanic who said he could come in couple of days.
So we slept on it!
