The day has finally arrived for Hank and me to fly to Victoria to meet Gary and the crew for the Swiftsure yacht race, http://www.swiftsure.org/. We have a full crew of 8 for the overnight race, so it will be nice to see old friends and make some new ones. I am just hoping that we adjust to the time difference quick enough to be of help on the race during watches. After the Memorial weekend race, Gary, Hank, and I will make our final journey back to Olympia for provisioning. Corinna is joining us to lend a hand too! If all goes well and the weather holds, we plan to depart Puget Sound at the end of the first week of June for Hilo.
Many thanks to all of our friends and family (and especially my mum!) who have made this grand adventure possible. While we are offshore, we'll be texting brief messages to Ginny who will keep the position updated on the blog. Here we go....
