Christmas in the Bahamas

We had a great sail from Black Point to George Town doing 6-7.5kts the whole way. The bad part was coming out of the cut into the sound - we all submarined as we came out of the cut - it was nasty. We travelled with three other boats all fishing with at least two lines each and no one caught a fish (except for the barracuda we caught, which does not count - yuck). We stayed in George Town one day and got some fresh veggies and money at the bank then off to Long Island.
We are sitting in Thompson Bay, Long Island getting ready for Christmas. We have planned a menu for Christmas Dinner aboard Fine Lion. Sapphire, Fine Lion and Night Hawk will enjoy the festivities together. My portion is fresh multi grain rolls, chinese cabbage salad and a lemon meringue pie, Fine Lion is baking a large ham etc. Sapphire is making scallop potatoes, green bean salad, squash. We don't eat well here in the Bahamas at all.
We had to motor all the way from George Town to Thompson Bay as there was no wind at all. The good news is the engine behaved itself the whole day - it was a seven hour motor.
The Long Island Breeze (a resort we are in doing internet in now) is having a Christmas party on Christmas Day starting at 6:00, with conch fritters, chicken wings etc. then moving onto a dance later in the evening. A good time will be had by all.
We will stay here on Long Island until sometime next week as we all need propane and there are a few fronts coming through, so we will stay put until they pass. We want the propane as we plan to go to the Jumentos next and you cannot get much of anything down there. If we can't get out of here before New Year's Eve then we can make reservations here for a great dinner and dance.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL - we miss our family and wish we were with them all
