29 October 2009 | Big Mama's Yacht Club, Pangaimotu Anchorage, Tonga
We visited with a friend of a friend today. Mary McCoy is an ex-Peace Corps worker and now Exec VP for Training Group of the Pacific. Mary and her Tongan business partner, Drew, do orientation and cultural sensitivity training for people coming to Tonga to work and live. They've also written a book "Making Sense of Tonga" which is quite popular here, so we were quite enthused about meeting her.

We had lunch together and felt like old friends in no time. She gave us a quick tour around town and during the course of the conversation, we learned she was in need of an electrician who could install an on/off switch for her water pump so she can have running water in her house without going to the next building to turn the switch on. Seemed easy enough, so David volunteered and we'll go back tomorrow to see if he's up to the task.
