Clearwater is a better cruising visit then you would expect

Terry/Highs in the mid 80s small craft warnings up
Clearwater's marina is a little disappointing. It is 2 dollars a foot and even though they advertise a boat us discount they do not have one. This for a marina with one shower and toilet per sex and wooden docks with finger piers that are too short for Paradox. We had to take off a lifeline to get our wives onto the dock which is always too low or too high since it is not floating.
That said, as soon as you walk out the gate you are in the middle of everything a Florida Beach town has to offer. At the visitor center just outside the gate we found that we could ride the trolley all day for 2 bucks all the way from Tarpon Springs to Tampa Bay and there is alot to do. We spent most of today at John's landing. The Bamboo 2 dollar beers and 2.50 wells from noon to 6 making it our base camp. We enjoyed the local art reading the funny T shirts and talking to the other tourists.
Terry will be the official skipper since he is the only one that navigates right now.
Ski is Terry's father and will be the first mate since he is the only other sailor.
Debbie, is Terry's wife and will be officially a swab, but she is looking for promotion. [...]
JoAnn is the matriarch of the group and while her sailing titile will be swab she does have 2 votes on the destination committee. The skipper can overrule for safety reasons, but if JoAnn can get just one other person to vote with her that will be where we go.
Princess is our Boston Terrior. Her position on the boat is obvious.
Misty is our miniature chihuahua. She will be our translator in Spanish Speaking Countries.
