One of the things that my son and I have enjoyed through the years is going bicycling through the old custom homes in Dallas. Today was the best day ever. Which is fitting since we will likely never do it again. My son grew up wanting to be an architect.
I bought him a new Schwinn comfort bike.
We looked at beatiful and quirky homes in a neighborhood called Little Forest Hills. Each house is decorated with a unique whimsical theme more like a neighborhood in Seattle than Dallas. For example, an Alice in Wonderland theme. We rode for 6 hours and had nice breakfast and lunch. Breakfast in a New York Style deli named Cindy's. I had Lox and Eggs for the first time and my son ate the pancakes and hash browns that came with it. I being on Atkins and he being Vegetarian we split the meal. I thought Lox a good thing to have eaten once in your life. :-)
My only regret for the trip is that my son will not go with me. He is in a hurry to begin college and refuses to take the trip.
Terry will be the official skipper since he is the only one that navigates right now.
Ski is Terry's father and will be the first mate since he is the only other sailor.
Debbie, is Terry's wife and will be officially a swab, but she is looking for promotion. [...]
JoAnn is the matriarch of the group and while her sailing titile will be swab she does have 2 votes on the destination committee. The skipper can overrule for safety reasons, but if JoAnn can get just one other person to vote with her that will be where we go.
Princess is our Boston Terrior. Her position on the boat is obvious.
Misty is our miniature chihuahua. She will be our translator in Spanish Speaking Countries.
