Party Time

08 August 2009 | Yacht Harbor Marina Pensacola
Terry/A little hot today with good sailing winds even at night.
The Marina had a Margarita Madness party with a live band, very fresh shimp(The shrimp boats are right next to the marina), corn on the cob, real Kielbasa, Gallons of Margaritas, Beer, Wine and pot luck for the deserts. It was a grand time. Debbie and I could feel young again because we were about the youngest in years any way. Some of the oldest in behavior but we are just getting our sea legs.

One lady brought her beagle Beauregard with her and he stole the show before being escorted out of the building. It is a yacht club, not a cruiser party after all. Bearegard's human had earrings and a necklace that were scale models of her beloved sailing vessel that her husband made himself in their backyard.

When Deb and I had enough of the band and the noise we could go for romantic walks on the docks in the moon light admiring the other boats in the marina.

We did not get much business taken care of on Paradox today. We rehung the main and rolled it into the mast today. A task that we should have avoided since we had a strong wind coming broadside to port at 10 knots. I did not have enough muscle to pull the sail down and get it properly tied to the car on the boom but the sail is safe and dry. If we do not get a break in the wind tomorrow we will take her out in the bay and head her into the wind so that the sails flap instead of catching the wind and set her up correctly.
