Revisiting a Favourite Stop
11 May 2016 | Annapolis, Maryland
Wednesday, May 4th - And we are heading to our favourite stop on the Chesapeake - Annapolis. The weather is getting colder and wetter each day. It was 35 miles across the Chesapeake to Back Creek, Eastport, a part of Annapolis. From here there is easy access to groceries, marine stores, etc. There is lots of activity at the marinas here as many boats are still to be launched. We dinghied to dinner at Davis' Pub - a local sailor hangout known for its good food. It didn't disappoint!
Next day we moved around to Spa Creek, near the Naval Academy and the more touristy side of Annapolis. We spent the afternoon walking through the little shops in town. We cooked a lasagna for dinner hoping the oven would help to warm the boat up! The last few nights, we have run the generator in the evening so we can use a heater. We've also made use of the fireplace!
Friday we woke up to rain and it never stopped until long after we went to bed. Again, except to take Buddy ashore we never left the boat, but we sure did run the heater!
