Michigan City, Indiana
01 September 2012
Friday, August 31st – By tonight we are expecting heavy rains from the hurricane, so we made the run to Michigan City, Indiana, 33.5 miles and will stay at least two days. It was rough enough that we took several waves over the bow...and we forgot to close the hatches...cushions are outside drying. By now, we shouldn't be making these rooky mistakes!
It is extremely hot and humid –we took a hose to the back of the boat so we could hose off on the swim platform a couple of times to cool off! The marina here has nearly 600 slips, the biggest we’ve seen. Dan and Pat Harrington, who keep their boat here saw our Canadian Flag and came to visit. They have done a part of the loop and brought us their card so we could check out their blog. We had a very nice visit with them before dinner.
