Further South
19 September 2013 | Frying Pan Bay, Beausoleil Island
Thursday, Sept. 12th - We spent another day at Echo Bay because it turned cool and windy. Next morning, Sept 13th, the wind had died so we decided to head out. I think this is the coldest I have ever been on the boat in the past 16 months! This area is all new to us - we have never come this far south and it is very beautiful. Once we entered Frying Pan Bay on Beausoleil Island we were out of the wind, but still it took a long time to warm up! We ran the fireplace and cooked and ate inside. There were about 8 boats in the bay and lots of generator noise from the power boats at the dock.
Saturday morning was sunny and a little warmer. As we headed in to Penetanguishene to meet Colleen, it was like traveling on Hwy 401 there were so many boats heading out for the weekend! We heard there were 100 boats in the bay we just left...we think that was an exaggeration but it was probably full! We spent the day with Colleen and Gord and the kids (they delivered our car to us) and stayed overnight at the marina, picking up a few supplies for the next week.
