A week in Annapolis
10 October 2014 | Annapolis, Maryland
We arrived in Annapolis on Sunday, October 5th and we remain anchored in the same spot today. During the week we have shopped, made a plumbing repair, got Buddy a haircut and spent time in the City of Annapolis. There are about 100 Canadian boats anchored here, and on Wednesday we had a Canadian Happy Hour on shore. It seems that boats from Quebec outnumber all the rest. It was fun to talk to all the boaters and hear their plans, Thursday was the opening day of the boat show and we were there from opening at 10 am until it closed and we couldn't walk any more! We didn't buy much - the boat I liked was $695,000 so we'll stay with what we have. I came close to buying a sewing machine but will wait till we are home next spring. While we have been here and have been leaving Buddy on board while we go ashore, he seems to have developed separation anxiety! Every time we leave him, he takes all my clothes off the shelf and spreads them around on the bed! It's mostly my clothes, and maybe one or two things of Ron's! He doesn't damage anything - just makes a mess!
We are leaving Annapolis tomorrow, so went out for dinner tonight. Ron had Chesapeake Bay oysters - the best oysters he's ever had. I had a soft shell crab sandwich. I wish I had a picture - it is a whole fried crab and looks like a big spider in a bun with it's legs all sticking out! It was delicious!
