On the Chesapeake
11 May 2016 | Deltaville, Virginia
April 30th - The weather has not been the best for traveling - cold and rainy mist every day. We arrived at our first stop in the Chesapeake, Jackson Creek and anchored for the night. In just a few minutes, a powerboat approached and we expected he might be coming to tell us we had to move. It was a pleasant surprise when he invited us for happy hour at his house! Bill and Mary live on Jackson Creek and have a boat house on their pier that is perfect for entertaining. We spent a few hours visiting with them and their next door neighbours.
On Sunday, May 1st we moved around to Deltaville and Regatta Point Marina - time to reprovision. Well, it is early in the season and the marina is not open on Sunday so we found ourselves a dock and tied up. We don't have access to the courtesy car, but Ron met someone who knew that they always leave the keys in an old pickup if we didn't mind driving it - so off we went - groceries, rum, beer - all replenished!
We had a chance to chat with K.C. And Scott on Jet Stream. We met them on the rivers while doing the Loop. They are heading North for the summer.
The next morning we stayed long enough to get a propane refill. Next stop - Solomon Island.
