Australia trip gets underway soon

Picture is of 15yr old OW member Jessica Watson who will be Mate on this trip.

OceansWatch promotional trip from Cairns to Brisbane.

Magic Roundabout will take about 40 days to do an awareness building trip, stopping at Townsville, Airlie Beach, Mackay, Gladstone, Bundaburg and Mooloolaba. Already OceansWatch has quite a few members on this coast and we are doing this trip to give them an opportunity to get more involved, to recruit new Australian members and in particular to meet the many overseas cruising yachts that will be arriving in Australia over the next few weeks. If members wish to meet the boat en route they should contact Melinda Taylor for the latest Itinerary update sv.velella@gmail or 0421778627

Once in Brisbane Magic Roundabout will be prepared for her trip back to New Zealand.

We are seeking applicants for a skipper. Mate will be OceansWatch member Jessica Watson. Other OceansWatch members are also helping and we still have 1 space left for the leg from Airlie Beach to Brisbane. Jessica Watson crewed on Magic Roundabout from New Zealand to Vanuatu. In just over a years time Jessica will be leaving Australia on her attempt to be the youngest person to sail around the world unassisted ? I'm sure we will all be following her trip with interest. To follow Jessica's progress check out www.youngestround.com The website is expected to be live by the end of the week. Last year OceansWatch NZ Trustee Donna Lange completed her 2 stop circumnavigation on her 28' sloop and is now busy helping set up OceansWatch North America.
