One of the really cool things about being so far out here is that the Staff have a little more say about what they do with their time. We were blessed to be able to take an evening walk along the parapets of the fort to the West wall above the living quarters for the staff and watch the sunset over Loggerhead Key. The kids loved the fact that they could explore this part of the fort as it is typically closed to the public. It was definitely one of those Globe Trekker extra moments as we stood looking out over the crystal blue waters watching the big red sun hiss into the horizon.
