Angistra to Poros

06 September 2015

Left Angistra toward Poros and went into the town harbour to see what was what lots of boats here, pretty town although not that old, we decided to give the quay a miss as read about the constant wash from ferries etc pushing boats onto the quay and holding is not so good according to the pilot book. We anchored in the bay of the north side of the town opposite the quay , there were a number of boats here and the anchor was well in with mud being the bottom. (we made the big purchase, 912euros for a 33kg rocna anchor in Lefkas on our last trip) Now because of the davitt system its easy to get the dinghy off to go to town which we did several times to stock up and also had a lovely dinner of lamb at one of the numerous taverns on the waterfront.
Met a boat from New Zealand, Kate and Andy with their two children, on there boat Zoi, they were on the quay it was extremely bouncy whenever one of the numerous ferries passed back and forth. We remained very peaceful at anchor.
