11/25/2008, Opua, New Zealand
We got into Opua around 8:30 pm. All is well. This was one scary trip. I'll send an update in a day or two.

11/23/2008, 338 miles to go
Hi all!
Just a quick update to let everyone know that we're doing well. The trip to New Zealand is supposed to be a tough one and, so far, that's true. We've been getting weather routed, and were told to heave to at one 29S 176E on Friday. Saturday they changed their minds and told us that we were hosed either way. Sunday and Monday will be the two toughest days and we're supposed to be prepared for 35 knot winds with up to 55 knot gusts (stay away from squalls). This morning things are not that bad. We have our main triple reefed and our staysail out right now and we're happily doing 5.5 knots. There's at least 16 other boats out here with us. We slowed way down for one night when we thought we were going to heave to and now we're in the middle of the pack.

11/19/2008, Minerva Reef
We left Minerva reef at 9:00 am this morning. We had 4 spectacular days at Minerva with absolutely no wind. It was easy to catch fish and the snorkeling was fantastic. The weather for the next few days looks good and we'll have some wind. We're currently slogging it out in south west winds but they are supposed to change later this after noon.
