Home Stretch

03 May 2015 | Truro
Ellen, sunny 55
We have moved back to the cottage in Truro for the remainder of the season. This is our 7th stay here and it is always so nice to come "home". We are in the last 5 months of our 1.5 year stint up here. I am anxious and ready to this season started, I don't like to wish my summer away, but I am ready to be done here and head back to our little homestead in eastern North Carolina.

We flip flop in regards to our plans for the winter, camping or boating. I am pretty certain we will head to the keys for the winter on BELLA. We would love to go over to the Bahamas again, but we told ourselves we wouldn't go back until we were open ended for a bit........we don't travel well with time limits. Also with Sophie's health (even though she is doing incredible) we feel it's better to stay local.

We definitely feel staying through the winter was a success, we are glad it's over and we have it behind us. We are not closed to the idea of doing (not this year though) it again if the right opportunity presented itself.

A year and a half is a long time for us to be in one place........it has only happened one other time since 2003 and that was when we were both working at the boatyard in North Carolina refitting BELLA and building the house. We are ready to get a move on for sure.

We are so grateful that we the opportunity to live the way we do, it isn't always easy but the benefits definitely out weight the sacrifice. YOU HAVE TO BE WILLING TO SACRIFICE FOR WHAT YOU WANT, IF NOT WHAT YOU WANT BECOMES THE SACRIFICE.
