14 52S 149 05W 2.4 kt heading we hope to either Tikhau or Rangiroa for fuel.. maybe tomorrow..
we got hit buy a lightning storm last night it was like a swam of bees watching them all get together and turn towards us, wish i would have had a vidieo of radar.. i thought we were moving away we were going east it was going west. already on my port side..
well it got board and said lets all get together and play with that littlel boat.. it did .. surrounded us with winds i guess when i could see 32 knots. turned us around so know we did not know what way were were going and managed to break my topping lift and snap the storm staysail lines.. so it was flayling around out there. we hung on.. and waited not a clue what direction we were..
we it passed got board and moved on.. leaving us in one heck of a mess. so i made my way forward as winds dyed down and seas were flat from all the rain.. managd to lower and tie down the strom sail.. then gathered all lines up to repair later.. then took a spare halyard and fliped it around the speaders (no easy feat ) to become a topping lift..
put out a reef geni again and managed through the night at 2.4 knots
today repaird lines for staysail its back out there.. we can point higher with it.. and motor sailing to one of these atols for fuel and repair a propper topping as this one will chafe in a day or two.. i am sure..
so all full here in paradise
