OOROO1 - Tonga to Fiji - 10th August 2017 - BLOG 1
After seeing Floss off at 4am bound for Perth, we moved off the Wharf at Nuku Alofa on the 8th of August at 3:30pm after completing the required paperwork in triplicate. We set off in 20+ knots of wind to find a comfortable point to anchor up on the west side of Atata Island. The Captain making the required anchor check in 10 metres of cool water with Kate already on strike from her duty.... Too cold! We got a good night of rest after a close game of scrabble. The following day was spent preparing to set off with a short snorkel in the coldest water temperature all trip with it dropping just below 23 degrees, brrr.
We set sail on the10th of August from the West side of Atata at 8:30am following a nice barbecued Pork slab, a bit of Rum punch for good measure and another good nights rest at anchor.
Fishing rigs all set and we are away.
Happy days on OOROO captain and crew are in good spirits.
