Peniche to Cascais

16 November 2016
Via Figueiro da Fox( nice cafe by harbor and great modern restaurant called Volta & Meia in old town) we arrived in Peniche just before the wind started to blow hard in the wrong direction. We had been motoring too much but we wanted to get south. We met some real cruisers waiting out the weather, a French couple and a Swiss/ French couple on a copy of Moitessier's boat who invited us for dinner and an education about fun, boats, time and priorities. They would just wait for the wind to blow them were they wanted to go, they had endless time and a destination of an island in the South Pacific. We watched the world surfing championships that were taking place on the beach nearby, walked and ate. Of course we did not wait for the wind to blow in exactly the right direction but we did sail and meet some big swells on our way to Cascais. This was another test for the boat as we slammed into and dropped off waves but we made port before nightfall and moored next to another aluminum boat a Garcia explorer owned by a swiss couple.. Three new metal boats in a row.
