Radio Out

Well I suspected some day we would be in the middle of the ocean and have a radio problem. That is why we elected to buy a satellite dish. In the event our HF radio went out. I don't know the whole of it yet but will pull both the radio and antenna tuner tomorrow and see if I can make it work. I tried to connect to my sailmail account and every time I transmitted it shut down the radio.

Other than that all is pretty good. We just reached the outer edge of the North Pacific High with the Baro at 1030. Need to stay in the 1030 band around the Western side and get to the top before we make our Easting. That is probably late tomorrow or the following day.

Tomorrow I told the boys we will put the screecher away and hang the big spinnaker and see how she goes. We are a little slow tonight with the wind coming from about 160 True and just barely enough into the gib to keep is full. Wind is at 12-14 and from this angle not quite strong enough to give us more than 6 knots.

We had one of the sump pumps (shower sump pump) fry yesterday. Today Malo did his mastery and replaced it with one of our spares. Good job!

Well I suspect it will be a long day tomorrow working on the radio. Don't know if I will be able to do anything but at least I can get the weather from the satellite and check into the Pac Sea Net via email on the satellite.

All for now.
