Ok,

Abby, Caitlin and Hanna arrived early Wednesday the 16th. We picked them up (a bit late) at the airport and then headed streight back to the boat to unload their stuff. It was too early to hit the open air market so that worked out fine. We did the Hindu temple and back to the boat. After a bit of a rest we headed into Nadi for the market where we purchased some fresh fruits and vegitables. After the market we headed back to the New World near the airport. Purchased the remaining needed staples and headed back to the boat. That day we had lunch with Lisa's sister and brother-in-law on the boardwalk and planned to meet them in the morning before they left for home.

The next morning we ran into Deb and Jeff and over the couple hours said our goodbyes. It was now time for our new crew to become acquainted with Port Denarau. We did a bunch of shopping for the girl's family before heading back to the boat for a bit of a clean up and packing away of items. Got ouselves cleaned up and headed for the local Fijian Resturaunt. Great dinner and no surprisses with the wait staff. They have a very nice sense of humor.

On Thursday we get a ride up to the zip line facility which was about an hour drive from the Marina. Once we arrived we dawned our harneses and helmets and made for the lines. Everyone had a great time and then it was up to the waterfalls about a 40 minute walk. When we get there the water was bloody ice cold. We all did a dance or two under the smaller falls for about an hour and then headed back to the main lodge for lunch. After lunch Abby and Caitlin took turns doing the swing from hell before we headed for the shuttle ride back to the marina. The girls had a blast. After getting back to the boat it was time to get cleaned up and head for dinner. Dinner was at a well established place. "Amalfi's". Yep just like on NE Fremont in Portland. The sign even looked similar. The main reason for that establishment was the waiter named Abu... quite feminine for a man but very pleasant. it was the place the girls wanted to eat so that was it. It was also Lisa and my 10th aniversary so we celebrated the finaly of the day with ice cream cones for all.

We got up early for our transit to the Blue Lagoon. I had to get up extra early to go to shore and buy our order of hot dog and hamburger buns. These were definately fresh. They put the hamburger buns in the over when I arrived and they were ready 15 minutes later afte cooling for another 5 minutes.

The wind was non existant so we motored all the way to the Blue Lagoon arriving at about 2pm. Headed in to do savusavu. On the way we caught two Wahoo. A 12 pounder and about a 25 pounder. Filet the 25 pounder and saved the carcas for the chief. The chief's sister happened to be his representative so that is who we did the sevusevu with. We gave them the smaller whole fish and the carcas and head of the larger fish.

After returning to the boat we had a little fun jumping off the bow of the boat. Hanna was a little reluctant but she finally made the leap. The bow is atl least 6 feet off the water so that was quite brave for her. After she came to the surface she told me she didn't like water. She now has a personal resolution to feel much more comgortable in the water when she leave hear than before she came. She is doing alot of firsts. I am very proud of her for her tenacity to continue to try.

Ok so for dinner tonight we had Wahoo Ceveche, Yogurt Cheese Spread on Crackers for an Apetizer and Wahoo filet sandwiches on those very fresh buns purchased this morning. It was quite yummy. Another first was Hanna trying the Ceveche... she loved it. At the end she ate the remaining bits and pieces from the bowl with a spoon. Yay Hanna!

All for now. The girls each have a challenge to write up an input for the blog that I will give them credit for. Starting tomorrow. So mom and dad's stayed tuned.
