Ok,

We sent the girls off just over a week ago.

Took some time to chill out, collect some items we promised Fulaga Island Village which included three laptops, a projector, printer and a wireless router. The three laptops are scheduled to go to the school and the nurses station. Have been trying to download a free encyclopedia but I don't have enough bandwidth to download in a reasonable time so might wait until later.

Found out from Charisma Ann that the village hand crank sewing machine needs alot of help so will see what I can do if we end up gong down there. If we can't make it we will ship our goods to Fulaga by the next boat. Right now the plan is to leave tomorrow, head around the north part of this island and work our way south to Suva for the Hybiscus Festival that starts next week.

The real purpose for going to Suva is we heard the Indian Culture in Suva have a ritual that coincides with the hybiscus festival where they work themselves into a state of self reliance so they can and will poke needles through their body in over a hundred different places. Spoke with one lady that did it and she said that it would only hurt if you didn't praise all the gods approriately. They finish the ritual by walking on hot coals.

If after we get there and the weather looks decent we will probably push down to Fulaga for a week to set up the computers and provide some instruction on their use and then be off again to who knows where. By the time we get through with Fulaga it will be close to the end of August and the time to Hurricane season will be less than two months. Will need to find a place to park Orcinius for 4 months while we are back in the states. As of right now our options are Fiji or New Caledonia. Then we have to work up a Hurricane preparedness plan for the insurance company and will also need to buy some deductible insurance.

We have decided not to go back to New Zealand. We have spent enough time there. Our last option right now is to travel to Australia. The trip to Australia is about as precarious as the one to New Zealand and when you get there you know you have to do it all over again going the other way. It is not like goining along the west coast of americas where you can find a hole every couple hundred miles. There is nothing in betwee the Islands and NZ or Aussie land.

Need to move on, chase down some provisions and get ready for tomorrows departure.
