Yes – chillin! The AC is finally working in the salon! We had to wait on a part to be shipped from New Zealand, then the repairmen came on Tuesday to reinstall the unit, and we have been chillin ever since.

Other happenings…
Things have been very low key here in Denarau – waiting for our pallet to make it’s way through bio-security and customs – somewhere between Suva and Lautoka. We are keeping our fingers crossed that we will be able to have the pallet delivered to the marina by the middle of next week. Then the big projects begin. Until then, we are saving our energy and taking it easy.
This is a long 4 day weekend in Fiji – so things are pretty quiet around town and out at Port Denarau. Yesterday (Friday) we drove around Lautoka (about 45 minutes north of us) to scope out the shipping company and see where our pallet might be residing. We found them at the other end of town, but it was all closed up for the day – as we had expected. But at least we have an idea of where things are. Then we drove over to Vuda Point Marina and had a nice relaxing lunch with Pat and John (S/V The Rose), and watched a bunch of cruisers participate in dingy races in the canal leading into the marina.
On Thursday, Malo had invited us to a lovo for Friday night. So after David was finished with work yesterday, the three of us headed up to their Aunt Lowes and Uncle Bills for the evening. Jui, Philipe, little Joseph, as well as a few other cousins were also there. Malo had started the lovo around 3 in the afternoon and it was ready for the unveiling at 7pm. Everything turned out delicious!
In his BARE FEET Malo begins digging up the lovo which is smoking hot!
Then they peal away the banana leaves to pull out all the goodies contained within - chicken, fish cooked in a carved out pumpkin, palusami - taro leaves filled with corned beef, onions and coconut milk, sweet potatoes, etc.
Jui and David also VERY PATIENTLY taught John and I a couple of new card games – one of which I had been wanting to learn for quite sometime. It is similar to ‘500’, but uses 7’s as trump, as well as the jacks and jokers. Other than the 7’s, all other cards 10 and below are not used. We played a few rounds, and I was starting to get the hang of it, but will definitely need a refresher soon!

Today we are catching up on some laundry, straightening up the boat which seems to get too easily cluttered, and may go catch a movie later this afternoon. Then we will definitely be catching some of the Japan 7’s Rugby tournament which goes on today and tomorrow. We have definitely been getting into this form of rugby with 7 players each side, and the 2 halves only last 7 minutes each. Very fast moving, high scoring and fun to watch! Two weeks ago Fiji won the Hong Kong 7, and now we will be cheering them on again! Go FIJI!!!
All for now!
