The progress continues on Orcinius this week. Although we struggle daily with the mess on every flat surface in and out of the boat, no where to sit or place your cup of coffee, John and the guys have made great progress on all the projects.
The week started with splice training and replacing all of the life lines with new dyneema rope.
The rest of the week has been spent pulling out old wire and replacing with new for all the new electronics to be installed.
Getting to the wires behind the cushions in the salon.
The guys are very close to testing the new chart plotter down below! Just a few more wires to go!
But it's not all work and no play on Orcinius - thank goodness!
Most evenings are spent having a 5 o'clock cold one with the guys. Music provided by Josiah, comical entertainment provided by Malo and Moses.
And one more video of Josiah playing Girl From Ipanema. Who would have thunk! Half way around the world, and he's playing Girl From Ipanema!
I've learned the melody, but otherwise don't play it nearly as well as Josiah - and he is self-taught and just plays by ear. Amazing!
Hold on a second - just as I am getting ready to post this blog entry, the guys are turning on systems!! And the verdict is....
All systems a go!! Notice the control panel to the left - radar returns on the chart plotter and wind direction with speed displayed on the wind sensor. Thumbs up!! Nice way to wind down on a Friday afternoon!
Sailing since the mid 90's.
Prior to this trip, 4 sailing adventures from Vancouver WA to the San Juan and Gulf Islands in the Straits of Juan de Fuca.
