Elsie and Steve have sailed northwest waters since arriving in Seattle via sailboat from Boston in 1979. Elsie is the author of "Voyages to Windward: Sailing Adventures on Vancouver Island �s West Coast" (Harbour Publishing, 2005). Steve has 300,000 miles at sea on freighters, destroyers, submarines, fishboats, and sailboats. He has built and repaired naval ships, fishboats, and ferries.
After 18 trips to the West Coast of Vancouver Island, Elsie and Steve took advantage of their retirement to extend their cruising grounds to Alaska and northern British Columbia.
