Daytona Beach
24 November 2012
We got up early so we could go through the Bridge of Lions before 7:00 am—after that there is a restriction. We were the first boats at the marina fuel docks. After fueling, we headed for Daytona Beach. Again, an other great day on the water—sunny—warm—and the current with us. There were five sailboats going to Daytona—we were all going about the same speed. When one got to the bridge—they asked for an opening for the rest of the parade. We decided to go through all the bridges and anchor on the other side of Daytona. This was water we didn’t know. According to the charts—it was deep enough—however—we got stuck. There were four other boats that did the same thing. One of them was a70 foot trawler—called Mosey—we met them in the Bahamas. Tom called him on the VHF radio and helped as much as he could to get him off. All went well—Mosey—got off and then went farther down the river to anchor. Great night!
