More fun with toilets (oh the joy!)

Photo: Fending off the evil poop pipe.
The past couple of days have been so much fun.... NOT!
The toilet and under the V-berth was still pretty whiffy despite the fact that we'd replaced some of the offending dunny pipe but we realised that, without doing the whole lot, the smell would always linger as the old rubber pipes (which are as old as the boat itself) had become permeable and so the smell of all that passed through them came straight through and assaulted my nostrils throughout the night (Dave's sense of smell is lacking compared to mine so he never really noticed it, but my whining got attention).
So, you know the why but not the how, and that involved a lot of hands on pulling of slimy, stinky pipes, the inside of which were encrusted in unmentionable crusty goop and smelled like something evil had invaded the very bowels of the boat (pun intended!). So Dave got to work (after once again emptying the contents of the toilet and shower rooms into the salon) and cut through all of the offending pipes then pushed on them whilst I, perched on the rolled up mattress in the V-berth, grabbed the other end (the first time without gloves...eeeeeewwwww!!) and slowly extricated them from their fetid domain.
We now have nice, new, impermeable (for at least 5 years) vanilla scented pipes and once I have gone to the shops and bought a whole lot of disinfectant and sponges and paper towel and sluiced the bins into which had leaked the contents of the old pipes, I'll be ecstatic. As it is, it already smells better. :D
