Well doesn't this just blow?!

MONDAY FEB 3rd - 2014
My goodness how things can change literally overnight. The wind came up and, although we were grateful for the cool, it made for a very difficult first night. Things rattled and hummed and banged and boinged. For me the boingy thing was the worst. It turned out that, because it was a case of tide vs wind, the mooring line ended up going under the boat which brought the 3 buoys to which it was attached into contact with the hull, creating a percussion of boioioioing-bump-bump at 3 in the morning, followed by a similar beat at around 5. This combined with the ting, ting, ting of ropes hitting metal and various unidentified thuds and groans made for a rather sleepless period.
Weather-wise, the day was completely crap. The wind hadn't stopped howling and swinging us around like a ribbon on a stick. Twice, the movement alarm sounded and suddenly there was slight panic because it was feared that we may have been moving ever so slowly towards the rocks near the edge of the boat ramp. It may even be the case so we're on shifts for anchor watch overnight or at least until 2am when the winds should ease a bit. Joy.
One good thing about being sequestered in the boat, I have had time to sit and draw, despite the fact that the boat has been like a tilt-a-whirl all afternoon. At one stage I thought my innards may rebel, but they behaved, much to my pleasure. It would have been mighty embarrassing to have upchucked when we weren't even sailing.
One less than happy thing occurred just after dinner though. I lost a bit of tooth. I wasn't even eating anything hard or particularly chewy, I guess it must have just been loose and now I have a sharp bit. *Sigh* Oh well.... search for a dentist when I can.
The next few days may be a similar one to today as we can't move until the wind eases, and that doesn't seem likely until next Saturday, and even then we also have to watch the waves. I'll let you know. For now, night shift beckons. Hurumph!!
