Maine Mongo

08 August 2008 | Southwest Harbor, ME
Yearning for sunshine!
Our experience with the weather here in Maine has not been the best over the past few weeks. We call it Maine Mongo. Although we have seen the sun on occasion it seems like the majority of time conditions have been overcast with rain and fog. This has been due to Low pressure systems that sit stubbornly overhead refusing to move.

It looks like tomorrow we'll catch a break and get in a day or two of decent weather before the next system moves in.

In the meantime we have visited many areas of Mt. Desert Island. If we could, we would vote Southwest Harbor our favorite. The staff at Dysart's Marina has been courteous and the town suits us well with several excellent restaurants, a suitable grocery store, a great bakery, and good ice cream. What more could a person ask for?
