Rasa and Narra town
We had a flat calm day for our 25 mile run up to Narra town where we hoped to top up our internet so we could contact the family as it was mother’s day. The flat calm conditions also gave us an opportunity to recalibrate our wind instrument which was giving inaccurate readings for the last few weeks. We always troll a lure in the hope of catching a nice mackerel so this day was no different, only this time we got lucky and hooked a nice 750mm mackerel, Dawn was rapted her favourite fish and fresh, we had it filleted and in the freezer within 30 minutes. We got our reload at Narra and with the wind coming from the South we chose to anchor over at Rasa Island 1 mile off the coast in behind the island. Dawn then made a great beer batter fish and chips with coleslaw for lunch, in all a great day. We got to have a big Facetime with the family, this technology is amazing, the IPad is one of the best investments we have made. Rasa is basically a mangrove island and not much to do so we decided to make our way up to Puerto Princesa do our check-in, stock up, meet the dive operator and plan our trip to Tubbataha.
