We are back in Seattle
It feels like home. Of course we are not in Silshole. Maybe we will be, someday, but there is a list and we are on it. In the meantime we are at Bainbridge Island Marina.

The dinghy holds air again
It wasn't very nice of the bear to tear the fabric across a seam. We were worried that we couldn't patch it but tried anyway. The glue had a job to do and it did it!

We were visiting the Anan Bear Observatory south of Wrangell. It is one of the best places to visit in all of SE Alaska BECAUSE it has bears. But (as we learned) there is a dark side to this bear concentration. And of course, there is a story to tell.

Crossing the Gulf of Alaska
We are still in Seward, AK. Now that spring has come, why not start south?
A great sail south
We had strong southerly wind for the trip south, but a headwind felt GOOD. It was cool and the sailing was grand. I even put down the sun shades on the sides of the bimini where needed to keep the crew out of the direct sun. We were cruising at almost 8 knots for much of the way. Now we are at anchor and the apparent wind isn't getting to where I am sitting below decks. And every pore in my body has erupted. I'm a human fountain. I've been drinking water until I am tired of swallowing. I guess it is a good thing.
The idea is to get lighter winds in the next few days and to take advantage of those light winds to visit Mulege. We need to anchor the boats in an exposed anchorage on a lee shore and then take the dinghies up the river to the city. We need good weather to do that. Stay tuned. We'll report on whether we pull this off.
