SV Panta Rhei Retirement Trip

We are still in San Carlos and the picture shows hurricane Jova's projected path. Note that it continues north after the projected date on Friday, just where no one really is willing to say. It is expected to weaken, but that is a maybe also. You can see that the influence zone includes Mazatlan and (if you project toward later in the week) Topolabampo (our next destination).

While we wait I am working on my refrigerator. I added refrigerant. That was easy. Now I'm adjusting the superheat. That is hard. Why do this? Because I HAVE to, no other reason. This isn't fun but my boat has put me into "school" and if I don't get a passing grade, all our food spoils. In the old days I bought my way out of this sort of difficulty. I simply called Mark McBride. But Mark isn't here now and my boat still needs attention. I'm reading the manual (which is excellent) which puts me into the position of "knowing what I'm doing" without ever actually having done it. But it is all I can do so I must be brave. Ron (SV Gold Eagle) is helping me, thank goodness. He actually is a refrigeration expert proving that what goes around really does come back around. Ron is the captain of SV Gold Eagle, the boat that I rescued a few days ago.
