It feels like home. Of course we are not in Silshole. Maybe we will be, someday, but there is a list and we are on it. In the meantime we are at Bainbridge Island Marina.

The dinghy holds air again

It wasn't very nice of the bear to tear the fabric across a seam. We were worried that we couldn't patch it but tried anyway. The glue had a job to do and it did it!

Today's activity was a "race" to a pair of islands about 10 miles away. We were "captured" by pirates as we landed, tied into a line of captives and forced to walk through fire (orange stones) and drink rum before being released into the resort. There was a hanging stand and a graveyard in full view for non-cooperative slaves. It all sounds pretty hokey, but it turned out to be great fun. The islands where we landed are two sandy dots in the middle of a beautiful blue ocean on a beautiful day. The water was 81F. There were lindy contests and a tug of war. The bar served cheap drinks and there was dancing on the tables by the younger members of the captured slaves (us). Some of the younger members were pretty fetching, too. I've included a picture of Karen and Sandy in their pirate attire. Lunch was a buffet with plenty to eat and good variety in the selection.

We had wind for the return trip and we greatly enjoyed being on a 46 foot catamaran (SV Gypsea Heart) on a smooth sea.

This morning we watched the america's cup racing at the local resort and enjoyed breakfast by their pool. We are going to watch the America's Cup races again tomorrow. This racing is exciting and we are in a great spot to enjoy the best of Fiji.
