We are back in Seattle
It feels like home. Of course we are not in Silshole. Maybe we will be, someday, but there is a list and we are on it. In the meantime we are at Bainbridge Island Marina.

The dinghy holds air again
It wasn't very nice of the bear to tear the fabric across a seam. We were worried that we couldn't patch it but tried anyway. The glue had a job to do and it did it!

We were visiting the Anan Bear Observatory south of Wrangell. It is one of the best places to visit in all of SE Alaska BECAUSE it has bears. But (as we learned) there is a dark side to this bear concentration. And of course, there is a story to tell.

New 140 amp alternator is working
The new alternator was installed by Cameron Murray of Transmarine in Opua. Cameron is the person that rescued our boat when it went walkabout from its mooring. And as it turns out he is quite expert at boat electrical systems and had experience doing this installation. I have reason to double appreciate Cameron. And ohhhhh I do love my new alternator. It's big so to provide 3 kW of power to the batteries. It's driven by a wide serpentine type belt, which is a reliable means of turning such a large alternator. It runs smooth. I'll tell you in a few months whether it runs reliably. But the early signs sure look good.
In the photo you can see the new alternator and Cameron. The fuel pump isn't installed yet, so don't fret that we forgot it!
