16/2/16 Surin to Koh Phra Thong channel
We left the Surin's for Koh Phra Thong channel, I would of preferred to go to the Similans but was out voted. It's nice in the channel, very calm & reminds me a bit of the broadwater in QLD. We decided to anchor close to the bottom of the channel. Nathan & Jan came over for dinner. It wasn't successful, vegetables undercooked & meat overcooked, I'm forgetting how to cook🙀 Too many meals ashore.
PHOTO drinks before dinner Koh Phra Thong Channel.
NOTES; We are going to try and get out the channel down the bottom across the sandbar😬
17/2/16 Crossing the Koh Phra Thong sandbar
It was really calm last night and good holding we pulled anchor about 9am to go across the sandbar at low tide. I was the only one worried but the depth on the charts were reasonability correct & we went thru on a 0.7 tide & the lowest total depth we had was 3m. I would do it again in such calm weather as it is a good place to anchor. We arrived at Navy Base about 3pm

WEATHER/TIDE; Wind N/NW 0-10 knots. Low tide & flowing against us coming across to Phra Thong but we were making tide in the channel
PHONE COVERAGE GREAT
ANCHORAGE GREAT very, very sheltered anchorage waypoint
09 03.848N 098 19.621E near village Ko Chang Fhra Thong
TRAVELING WITH HEBJEB Jan & Nathan
SHOPPING none we didn't go to the village
FOOD; Cook your own, I MUST REMEMBER HOW
Dogs; OK a sandy very small beach to go ashore. No other dogs.
