We left the Islands at 6.20am en route to Patong, 57 miles. It was calm with max wind 5kts, we built that to 8kts with one motor, and sailed at 6.5kts all the way. Anchor down at 4.15pm. The noise and smoke assailed us, and on going ashore, the usual smell of drains! This was of course enhanced after being out at the Islands for nearly 3 weeks. Patong is not a place that I would like to stay in, but we need provisions and there is a very good Carrefours supermarket here.
