Still here but exploring
04 June 2017 | Welcome marina, Brisbane
Got up to see the tragic news about yet another stupid attack on the UK its quite upsetting when I am this far away, but I'm glad no one who I know are involved this time. I just don't know what the stupid idiots think they will achieve. I am so impressed with the way Manchester and the rest of the UK have rallied round, and I love the bees that are springing up also. So enough of me being maudlin. I hope I can cheer you up from down here. I went out to get some prices for some international country flags as is the custom when going into a new country, we also need a yellow quarantine flag which has to be displayed as we approach anywhere new. I set off on a rickety old bike with no cables in the brakes or suspension and a home made pedal made out of two blocks of wood. the bike was about 10 years old and 2 sizes too small, the saddle was pointing upwards, giving my crown jewels a dam hard bashing. It was found by Ruud with a note saying SCRAP. So I pedaled along the roads of Brisbane, looking for a chemist, I think I got about 12 km before I decided to stop and take a different direction away from the coast road, when I was almost back to the marina I found what I was looking for, something like 800m away from the boat. But never mind I needed the exercise, or so I tell myself. I have taken to talking to myself, why? I don't rightly know, but it doesn't help one bit. It was my turn to prepare tea and it was the only thing to go right for me today, I made upside down shepherds pie, or to put it another way up minced beef and gravy with onions on mash potatoes. Did you see what I did there? Any way Ruud liked it. The time is 21.30 and it is quite cold here something like 20C.
