Wish I had something new to say, but other than the wind dying and
having to turn on the motor, we just stayed busy heading south. We were about 75 miles off shore by the time was all said and done. Although it was a drag not being able to sail, the result was a pretty calm ride and we were all able to read without getting sea sick. Oh...we caught our first fish: it was a yellow tail and weighed about 15 or so pounds. We got him on board and cleaned him up (with the ceremonial first taste of raw fish - unbelievably fresh as you might imagine). My 3:00 a.m. shift was pretty cold, but not as cold as I remember it being last year. However, the fog rolled in very thick at about the midpoint of my watch so that got pretty cold.
