The Trek Continues
Rhode River
We agreed to show Peking at the trawler show at Solomons, Maryland sponsored by Passage Maker magazine. From Georgetown, MD we went to Rhode River on the western shore. This is a beautiful anchorage south of Annapolis. Rumor has it that the land surrounding the anchorage is owned by the Smithsonian and is intended as a wildlife sanctuary. Better yet, conventional wisdom has it that the entire area is a CIA safe house facility. If you land there for any reason (walking old Fido) a 'caretaker" will immediately show up and ask you to leave. So perhaps there is something to the CIA safe house theory? We do not know, but it seems to lend a certain charm to the area. The weather was calm, sunset was beautiful. Memorable.
