Martinique

Martinique was a great stop. One of the highlight was going to the" wrong "restaurant and meeting wonderful people. We were given directions to a particular restaurant and instead of turning right we turned left. We thought we were at the restaurant. It was very small and decorated in a "Cuban" motive. We entered and the surprised owner told us that they do not open until 7:30. We returned at 7:30 and were the only clients in a very intimate setting with the owner and friends. The menu was what he had and the food, of course delicious. We had a wonderful time, learning more about Martinique and its people. The owner presented us with a beautiful book on St Vincent and the Grenadines. A special evening was spent in the "wrong" restaurant.
We anchored next to the fort of Fort de France. We also spent a couple of evenings with Wolfgang. Owner of an 109 ft steel trawler made in Germany 30 years ago. Wolfgang and his friend Maresb were a wealth of information about the Caribbean. Wolfgang has been in the area for 40 years.
