Hash House Harriers

Jerie
Jerie's cousin, Donna VanHouse and her husband Tim were visiting Bonaire on vacation and as it turned out we were all there together. What a great suprise. We had Thanksgiving dinner together and saw each other many times during their visit. Donna and Tim had rented a three bedroom condo and friends from Atlanta and Canada had joined them.
One of the events new to us was "hashing". It is kind of hard to explain but I will try. Members make a trail out of flour, toilet paper, etc. The rest of the group tries to follow the trail. It seems that the fast runners fall for the tricks in the trail first and all (fast and slower walkers) seem to equalize by the end of the trail. At the end there is an enormous amount of beer and merriment. It was a lot of fun. The Atlanta area hashiers set the trail and the Bonaire Flamingo hashiers brought the beer. Friends Susan and Andy from the M/V Maggie May also joined us. We ended up at the Paradise Moon for dinner. A fun night in Bonaire.
