Almost back to our reality

Well, we can all feel the tension of reality trying to creep its way back into our lives. The Venezias departed back to Danville today, and we are left with just Johnelle and Oakley and our belongings that are strewn to every remote corner of their property. Funny how one can spread out given a little bit of space! We had an incredible time here in their place that could easily be renamed Paradise. As we are laying down to our last night on a great mattress and linger in our final hot shower, we reflect on great times that we have had over this last week with the Parkers and Venezias as well as a few days with my parents and friends Bebe and Rusty Grosse. We have reminisced about growing up, playing in mud puddles, birthday parties, Green Oak Ranch camp, puberty, moody teenagers, high school, funny dates, prom pictures, college, weddings and then having our own children. We laughed at all of the crazy things we did to make our parents crazy when we were young. Mom and Dad, Johnelle and Oakley and Bebe and Rusty, I am sure, got a kick out of seeing our kids doing the same crazy things to us that we did to them. Payback is a beautiful thing and I know they are loving being grandparents! After our time here our kids have now adopted Johnelle and Oakley as their 3rd set of grandparents, Baba and Papa.
We plan on leaving tomorrow morning to go back out into nature and the wild remoteness of the Baja peninsula. We leave with sadness but an incredible sense of gratefulness for having such great friends and family. Life is good, but when enriched with friends like these, life is great.
