El Salvador
26 April 2011 | Bahia Del Sol
Eric
We spent 4 weeks in and out of El Salvador making Bahia Del Sol our homebase. We took a quick trip to the Mayan Triangle with an awesome tour guide from El Salvador. Tour In El Salvador did a great job getting us to the Ruins of El Salvador and Honduras, and to Antiqua Guatemala. The kids had a good time learning on the road about all three countries, the history and about the ancient Mayan culture. Guatemala had an amazing amount of religious history as it was the base for Spain and the Church during the conquest of Central America. We also toured a cool Macaw Bird sanctuary in Copan Honduras and waterfalls in El Salvador along the way.
As we reach the end of April it is time to say goodbye to our new friends of Bahia Del Sol and to join up with new ones as we venture south.
Red Sky our buddies for the past few months have decided to stay longer in El Salvador and Lisa-Kay from S.F. has joined us in traveling South. We met Lisa-Kay through the El Salvador Rally, Larry, Lisa and their 10 year old son Ben. Tommy and Ben have hit it off great and on the 23rd we left Bahia Del Sol together. Attached is the photo of our exit over the bar.
