Voyages of Petite Ourse
Day 8
Richard
05/18/2012, on passage

Entamons la 2eme semaine: 2300 miles tout droit devant nous sous vent portant. (nous aussi bien portant). Pronostic du capitaine: duree totale de la croisiere " Club Pacifique" 26 jours. Tres beau soleil, chaud mais agreable.

Day 7
Richard
05/17/2012, on passage

Again the deck is littered overnight by flying fish and a squid. No luck in fishing department today. First day with a lot of rain showers but wind overall remains a bit light; we are averaging just under 100 nautical miles per day. All is quiet and well aboard.

Day 6
Richard
05/16/2012, on passage

The day started with cleaning the deck of flying fish and squid. Fishing resulted in a mahi mahi just in time for supper and just the right size for 3 people.

Day 5
Richard
05/15/2012, on passage

The wind has finally picked up to 10 to 12 knots this afternoon. We expect this to continue and increase to 15 knots. This morning we were overflown by a small helicopter with two people aboard. Its purpose is unknown. Petite Ourse at that time was at least 200 miles from the nearest Galapagos island. We also got our first fish (a mahi mahi) of the passage this morning which we shall eat tonight. All remains well aboard

Day 4
Richard
05/14/2012, on passage

Last night's sunset hopefully accompanies this post. Today light winds are starting to increase to give us better speed. On day 3 we only covered 80 miles. One large pod of dolphins past the boat in pursuit of tuna and flying fish have appeared. We are still visited by a few birds. Tried fishing but no luck today.

The sunset scenery is magnificent. Sounds like the voyage is ideal. Fair winds and best to the crew. 73

Nous navigons toujours lentement (80 miles pendant le jour 2) mais surement, sous un beau soleil. Bon anniversaire, meme avec un peu de retard, a Axel .
