We are at the town quay of Uturoa which is the major population centre of the Leeward Islands. The generator on the boat did not work and we had it diagnosed by a Canadian, originally from Kitchener, who is now a permanent citizen and resident of French Polynesia. Result one new starting battery for the generator and everything is back to normal. Uturoa has the only highschool in the leeward islands and all the kids were returning to their home islands for the weekend by ferries at the town quay for the whole aftternoon. It was very busy then and now the waterfront is completely deserted but lit up. Nous avons du venir de bonne heure ce matin de Tahaa car le generateur ne fonctionnait plus. Apres avoir passe une journee a essayer de le reparer, nous avons du faire appel a un technicien....canadien mais vivant sur l'ile de Raitea. Centre administratif, scolaire (les enfants des autres iles y viennent continuer leurs etudes secondaires)et de charters. Bien entretenu mais petit, nous avons assiste a l' heure de pointe de la semaine, ou tous les eleves rentrent par bateau dans leurs iles....Du monde et des bagages sur le quai ou nous sommes, mais ce soir calme assure...
